The Alberta government is changing the way paramedics assess and transport patients in a bid to ease the burden on the province’s overstretched EMS system.
The new measures stem from recommendations crafted through an EMS advisory committee, which consulted local front-line workers and delivered a final report in October 2022. The province publicly released the report, along with an independent review of the centralized emergency services dispatch
