Alberta Renaming Its Default Electricity Rate

The Alberta government is renaming the provinces default electricity price in an effort to provide clarity to customers and encourage them to shift towards what it believes will be more affordable options from retail providers.Just under 30 per cent of Albertans are on the default rate, formerly know as the Regulated Rate Option RRO, but will be rebranded as the Rate of Last Resort RLR.
