Mazin Zaim died in hospital Oct. 2, 2023, 12 days after he was restrained by Edmonton Police Service officers during an arrest on Shaske Crescent Sept. 20. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the police use of force. Zaim’s family say he was experiencing a mental health crisis.
