DALLAS — The Dallas Stars welcome in the NHL’s hottest team going into Saturday — the Edmonton Oilers, and their superstar center Connor McDavid — and you can watch the game on WFAA.
The game will start at 2 p.m. Saturday, and it’s sure to be a great one to tune in for!
Dallas leads the Central Division with 74 points, and Edmonton comes to Dallas as winners in 18 of their last 21 games — including a 16-game winning streak that ended last week against the Vegas Golden Knights.

- Depth in Dallas: The Stars have 10 players with 30-plus points (goals and assists) on the season, which is the most in the NHL. No other team has more than six players with 30-plus points. Dallas also has six players with 40-plus points, which leads the league, as well. Four teams have five players with 40-plus points each: Edmonton, Tampa Bay, Vancouver and Toronto.
- Two-headed monster: Connor McDavid is third in the NHL with 80 points. He leads the league in assists (59). McDavid is in the race for the Hart Trophy (NHL MVP). McDavid is the defending MVP and also won the award in 2017 and 2021. Leon Draisaitl comes in 13th in the league with 63 points.
- All-Star Otter: Goaltender Jake Oettinger was Dallas’ only All-Star this year and is coming off a 32-save performance against Carolina Hurricanes and a 47-save performance against the Buffalo Sabres. Oettinger’s 20-9-2 record is tied for 7th-best in the NHL.
- Ahead of 2023 pace: Through 54 games, Dallas is 34-14-6 (74 points), which has them in first place in the Central Division. At this time last season, the Stars were 30-14-10 (70 points).
- Scorching-hot Oilers: The Oilers were underperforming for a large portion of the season, but then rattled off 16 wins in a row and have won 18 of their last 21 to surge up the Western Conference standings.
- High-scoring game?: The Dallas Stars lead the NHL with 3.76 goals per game, while Edmonton comes in fourth with 3.50 goals per game.
- Keep sweep alive? Dallas won the first matchup against the Oilers earlier this season. The Stars took the first game, 4-3, on the road in Canada, and will host the Oilers for the final two games of the three-game regular season series.
- Dynamic Duchene: Free agency signing Matt Duchene has been a welcomed addition to Dallas. Duchene ranks second on the Stars with 52 points, adding to Dallas’ extremely deep center position.
