A week after a now-massive wildfire broke out in northwestern Manitoba, residents and local officials are still grappling with the financial and emotional burdens. Provincial officials say financial assistance is available, but not instantaneous. The wildfires are ‘very trying on your financial situations,’ says Lori Forbes, municipal emergency co-ordinator.
