‘It’s My Honor’: Trump Joins TikTok After Previously Trying to Ban Platform
Former president Donald Trump joined TikTok on June 1, after trying to ban the platform, posting his first video from UFC 302 in Newark, New Jersey.
Video posted to the account shows Trump standing alongside UFC CEO Dana White.

White says, “The president is now on TikTok.” Trump responds, “It’s my honor.”

In 2020, Trump issued an executive order that would have banned the platform in the US. It said, “The United States must take aggressive action against the owners of TikTok to protect our national security.” The order was later blocked in court.

In March, Trump appeared to reverse course, telling CNBC, “Without TikTok, you can make Facebook bigger, and I consider Facebook to be an enemy of the people.”
