Keeping Humboldt Broncos crash driver from deportation a ‘moral obligation’: MP | Power & Politics

Alberta Liberal MP George Chahal is rallying support to halt the deportation of Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, who was driving the semi-truck that struck a bus carrying members of the Humboldt Broncos in 2018, killing 16 people and injuring 13 others. ‘I feel that as a Canadian and as a member of Parliament it was my moral obligation to support my constituent,’ Chahal told Power & Politics. ‘This will impact those families for the rest of their lives, and Jaskirat knows that.’
