Liberal government tables bill aimed at curbing foreign meddling | Power & Politics

The federal government tabled legislation Monday aimed at curbing foreign interference, including by introducing a foreign influence registry. Former Conservative MP Kenny Chiu says he hopes the registry is ‘the very first step in the direction of finally doing something instead of just saying something.’ Toronto Association for Democracy in China co-chair Cheuk Kwan says the registry is ‘better than we could have hoped for.’
