Mayor of Belleville, Ont., says it’s time to take action on overdose crisis | Canada Tonight

Neil Ellis, mayor of Belleville, Ont., says there needs to be a plan in place to combat the rising drug overdoses in his community. The city says it’s declaring a state of emergency following dozens of overdoses since Tuesday. The area’s medical officer of health, Dr. Ethan Toumishey, says the crisis is getting worse because the drug supply in the community is contaminated with dangerous substances.
