Records: Tulsa is 8-6-2 (18 points), third in the ECHL’s Mountain Division; Wichita is 6-11-2 (14 points), fourth in the Mountain; Utah is 6-7-0 (12 points), sixth in the Mountain.
Promotions: Saturday — Native American Heritage Night special game jerseys will be available in a postgame auction. There also will be an Oilers hat giveaway to the first 1,000 fans. Sunday Family Fun Day — The first 300 fans will receive an Oilers hockey card pack and after the game fans are invited to skate with the Oilers players.
Notes: The Oilers won 3-2 Sunday in the opener of the home-and-home series with Wichita on Luka Profaca’s overtime power-play goal. Tulsa’s Kylor Wall scored his first goal of the season as did Oilers veteran Mike McKee. Kyle Crnkovic has five points in his last two games. A night earlier, Tulsa also won in OT, 6-5, over Allen on Tyler Poulsen’s goal. The weekend OT wins capped a 3-0-1 stretch over five days at home. Kristian Stead, just acquired from Knoxville of the SPHL, was the Oilers goalie for all four games. … On Monday, the Oilers traded forward Tag Bertuzzi, who had one goal in 15 games, to Reading for forward Alec Butcher. Tulsa also received forward Jaxsen Wiebe on assignment from the Anaheim Ducks via San Diego of the AHL. Butcher, 29, has 161 points, including 75 goals, in 245 ECHL games, with four goals and seven points in 15 games this season. Butcher set career highs in goals (23), assists (30) and points (53) with Rapid City in 2021-22. Wiebe, 21, has one assist in seven pro games, all with San Diego. Before turning pro, he had 95 points and 299 penalty minutes in 169 career games with Red Deer, Edmonton and Prince George of the WHL.
