One free agent for Buffalo to sign from Edmonton

Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams did say he is looking for a third-line center in the offseason. Faceoffs were a glaring issue for Buffalo all season and it needs to be addressed over the Summer. One player that the Sabres should try to sign from the Edmonton Oilers is Adam Henrique.

This season with the Anaheim Ducks and Oilers, Henrique scored 24 goals and recorded 27 assists in 82 games played. In addition, he was also +9 this year. Adam is currently hoping to help Edmonton to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals as they are battling the Dallas Stars.

At age 34, Henrique has something the Sabres need, experience and scoring ability. Over his 13 year career, he has never gone a season with single digit goals. Even at his age, Adam is still a solid player and the Sabres can use him.

Not only can he score, but he can win faceoffs as well. This season, the Brantford, Ontario native won 53.2% of the draws he took. With Tage Thompson and Dylan Cozens being the top two centers, adding a veteran like Henrique would make sense for Buffalo.

Buffalo is looking to take the next step as a franchise. With Lindy Ruff back at the helm, signing Adam would help this young franchise take a leap forward and end the playoff drought. Henrique is coming off the final year of the 5 years, $29,1250,000 contract he signed with the Ducks back in 2019.

While he might cost a bit more than some other veterans, the Sabres should try to bring him in. With his experience and what he can do offensively as well as in the faceoff circle, he is the guy from the Oilers that I want Buffalo to sign.

The next team that will be discussed next are the Florida Panthers.
