Stars vs. Oilers scores, schedule: Edmonton aiming to eliminate Dallas, advance to Stanley Cup Final in Game 6

The Edmonton Oilers are one win away from the Stanley Cup Final, but they will have to get it against a Dallas Stars team that has been excellent on the road in these playoffs.

After winning Game 5 on the road, the Oilers can salt away the Western Conference Final at home in Game 6. If Edmonton is going to advance, its top players will have to keep producing against a strong Dallas defense. The Oilers currently have the top four scorers in these playoffs with Connor McDavid (29 points), Leon Draisaitl (27 points), Evan Bouchard (25 points) and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (20 points) at the top of the list.

The Stars, on the other hand, need to find a spark offensively. They’ve scored just three goals in the last two games, and they’ve totaled just 42 shots on goal in that stretch. Roope Hintz hasn’t scored since returning from injury, but he is not alone in his struggles.

The trio of Matt Duchene, Mason Marchment, and Joe Pavelski has combined for just one assist in this series. The Stars’ depth was a weapon all season long, but it has fallen flat against the Oilers.

If there is good news for the Stars, it’s that they are 6-2 on the road in these players, and they’re 5-2 when coming off a loss. They’ll need to keep those trends going in order to keep their season alive.
