Orchid Fair: Founded in 1976, the Orchid Society of Alberta presents the largest of its kind orchid jamboree this entire weekend, its 44th annual show and sale.

Featuring an art exhibition and awards ceremony, this is almost 1,400 square metres of everything orchids, including, of course, hundreds of orchids in every shape, size and colour from as far away as Ecuador and Taiwan from the family’s some 30,000 species. Casual fans and deep-diving experts alike are invited, and demonstrations abound. Should be beautiful — and educationally fragrant, too!
