Save the Parks: This worthy fundraising concert and late-night park session put on by all-ages promoter Project 23 and the amazing Purple City Music Fest https://purplecityfest.com/ is to help ensure Edmonton’s only indoor skate park won’t close down! The most excellent bands are Bogue Brigade, Drive By Punch, Lacerator, Messor, Creature//Conspire and Undivided Attention.

Frozen (2013) Sing-Along: Here’s one for the whole family to make some noise at to ice the year: the tenth anniversary sing-along of Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee’s neo-classic, Frozen, tangentially based on Hans Christian Andersen’s 1844 story, The Snow Queen, with a little Doctor Zhivago thrown in.

When the newly-crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home with infinite winter, her sister Anna teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer and a snowman named Olaf to make things right using, you know it, baby!, the power of love.

SOULstice: “The final Connections//Collisions Cabaret of the 2023 year,” explains curator Josh Languedoc, “captures the spirit of winter joy and connection. This music and comedy-filled cabaret will brighten the spirits and get us feeling festive.

Joy is the central feeling of this cabaret as we prepare for the welcoming of a new year.” Artists in the year-ending lineup include Lauren Brady, Molly McDermott, Chalier Peter and Kathy Metzger, as well as DJ ShakiñaRay.
