Toronto’s Glad Day Bookshop raises $112K to avoid July eviction

Toronto’s Glad Day Bookshop, which describes itself as the ‘oldest queer bookstore in the world,’ faced eviction after piling up debt during the pandemic. In just four days, the beloved bookstore was able to fundraise $112,000 to pay a lump sum to the landlord, but there are concerns it won’t be enough in the long term.
