U.S. surgeon general calls for social media ‘warning’ labels

U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy is calling on Congress to put warning labels on social media platforms, just like on tobacco products. Murthy cites a ‘mental health crisis’ among young people in an op-ed published Monday in the New York Times. Mitch Prinstein, the chief science officer of the American Psychological Association, gives his insights.
