Wednesday May 29 Best Sports Bets & Predictions For Dallas Stars vs. Edmonton Oilers & More

We’ll use two of our swings on a modified zig-zag theory and, for the third bet, we identify an opportunity for a player who’s already made it everywhere and now tries to “make it there” again Wednesday night.

Let’s jump right into Wednesday May 29th’s best bet picks.

Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers

Similar to our Tuesday NHL betting prediction (Florida Panthers Game 4 moneyline with game total of 4+ goals) based on the Panthers’ Game 3 advantages everywhere but the scoreboard, the Edmonton Oilers are checking our boxes.

Edmonton is clearly the more desperate team as Game 4 approaches. The Oilers led the Stars in Monday night’s matchup, but a couple of letdowns opened the door for Dallas.

It wasn’t so much that the Stars dominated play, either. Edmonton outshot Dallas 30-22 and had 42 hits to the Stars’ 19.

The prediction here is that the goaltending situation evens out on Wednesday night. Stuart Skinner likely will face fewer shots than Dallas’ Jake Oettinger and needs to come through in front of a well-oiled Edmonton home crowd.

Skinner faced only 21 shots in Game 3; Oettinger faced 30, with 13 coming from Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman.

The Oilers offensive attack is primed to break through and send this series back to Dallas tied at two.

Two-leg parlay: Oilers moneyline parlay with under 8.5 goals at -103 (FanDuel).

Phoenix Mercury at New York Liberty

WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, who turns 42 June 11, scores almost 17 points per game and is still among the elite players in the league.

The Mercury were blown out Sunday, but that came on the heels of a three-game winning streak.

Even without Brittney Griner, Phoenix isn’t awful. (One of those games was a road win at the title Las Vegas Aces.)

Newcomer Kahleah Copper has thrived in new coach Nate Tibbetts’ offense to the tune of 25.5 points per game.

The Liberty have lost two games in a row, and badly. They will figure it out eventually, but Wednesday night might be too early to assume the best.

Mercury +14.5 at New York Liberty at -112 (DraftKings).

Mariners-Astros and Yankees-Angels

Baseball, more than any other sport, tends to even out over time.

Just about every team will win 60 games and lose 60 games every year.

It’s what they do with the extra 42 games that matters.

We’ll apply the trend to Wednesday night’s menu.

Two of the American Leagues’ elite teams, the Yankees and the Astros, suffered disappointing defeats on Tuesday night. This sets up a perfect opportunity to play both teams in a parlay that relies on better starting pitching along with the revenge factor.

The Yankees sent Luis Gil to the mound against an Angels team that rallied late to win 4-3 on Tuesday night. Gil has struck out 22 batters in his past two starts (in only 12 1/3 innings) and has really found a groove.

In Seattle, the Astros saw their 2-1 lead disappear on a couple of ground balls that behaved the way Seattle fans hoped they would.

Wednesday night, Houston’s ageless Justin Verlander takes on the struggling George Kirby.

The first-place Mariners are playing with house money in this series after taking the first two games.

Two-team parlay: Yankees moneyline with Astros plus 1.5 runs at +116 (BetMGM).
