Firefighters are investigating after two overnight fires displaced families and destroyed at least three townhomes, and a vacant home, in northeast Edmonton Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The first fire, on Hooke Road in the Hermitage neighbourhood, was reported to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) at 3:55 a.m.. Thirteen units were called to attend, EFRS said in an email Tuesday, with the first unit arriving on scene at 4:00 a.m.<\/p>\n
The fire was called under control at 5:51 a.m., EFRS said. On Tuesday morning, firefighters were seen dousing hotspots on at least three townhomes which were destroyed by the blaze.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported, EFRS said, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n
Edmonton fire crews then received a second call at 4:16 a.m. for a fire at a vacant home on Howson Crescent, also in the Hermitage neighbourhood.<\/p>\n Six units were dispatched to tackle the blaze with the first unit arriving on scene at 4:26 a.m., EFRS said. The fire was deemed under control at 6:25 a.m.<\/p>\n No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is also under investigation.<\/p>\n Two overnight fires displaced families in at least three townhouses on Hooke Road in northeast Edmonton.
